LEED (officially The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System™) is an internationally recognized benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high performance green buildings.

LEED Leadership

Latitude Uptown was the first market office building in the Metro Vancouver area to be built to LEED Gold standards for excellence in energy efficiency and environmentally sustainable design. In September 2009, the USGBU awarded Latitude Uptown with its LEED Gold certification.

Gold
Certification

LEED certification is granted at various levels with LEED Gold being one of the highest levels achievable. Particular building systems that contribute to this high level of energy efficiency and water conservation are the following:

Exterior Glass

High performance exterior glass with a shading coefficient rating of 0.26.

Air Conditioning

VRF (variable refrigerant flow) air conditioning system, which provides for heat recovery and zone control.

Ventilators

Energy recovery ventilators, which use the warm exhaust air to heat up fresh air intake.

Elevators

MRL (machine room less) elevators, which use 70% less energy than typical hydraulic elevators.

Lighting

Advanced lighting technology (indirect lighting using electronic ballasts) and light controls.

Toilets

Dual flush toilets, and motion sensored faucets and flush valves for water savings of 41% as compared to a typical office building.

Roof

“E” Energy Star compliant roof with high reflectivity will reduce heat gain through the roof.

Energy levels are projected to be at least 40% below the National Energy Code model for office buildings.
